Behind the lens
SafeSPACE™ children experience scavenger hunt with a difference!
Kalgoorlie PCYC kids had an amazing time practising their photography skills in the Bush thanks to funding from the National Indigenous Australians Agency.
Equipped with cameras and a list of tasks they had to complete, the children ran around in teams determined to win the photography scavenger hunt.
The list of tasks to complete included finding something that was alive, something that told a story, and something in the sky – encouraging the children to be creative with the photos they took.
The children also learnt about the land, different uses for plants, bush medicine knowledge, and local animals.
As well as a fun-filled day out in the Bush, the photos will now be used to extend their learning experience with nature-based cultural activities back at PCYC.
