Broome PCYC Powers Up BBAI Junior Carnival!

Published: October 14, 2024 11:42am

Each year, Broome PCYC proudly supports the talented young athletes competing in the Broome Basketball Association Inc. (BBAI) Junior Carnival by providing transport, food, water, and uniforms to the players.

This exciting event brings together young people from Broome and the broader Kimberley region for a day filled with competition and community spirit.

This year, the sense of community and commitment to positive decision-making were at an all-time high. Staff were particularly impressed by the outstanding sportsmanship displayed by our young athletes, all of whom embody the spirit of "basketball is life" at Broome PCYC.

Staff encouraged participants to maintain a clean venue and follow all game rules. With the added incentive of icy poles as ‘Kimberley Currency,’ players took pride in keeping the venue tidy and consistently demonstrated respectful, positive behaviour.

A special congratulations goes to two of our very own safeSPACE™ participants, Victor and Mia, who both won gold medals as part of their respective under-15s winning teams—the Pistons and the Majestics. Well done, Victor and Mia!

A huge thank you to all who participated in this year’s Junior Carnival, and to the BBAI and the local community for organising another fantastic event.

We can’t wait to see our young athletes shine again in 2025!
