Drive to the Future at Rockingham PCYC
Jeremy Faatele is the first recipient to complete the Drive to the Future program, which provides young people with the opportunity to obtain a motor vehicle licence.
The program is delivered at Rockingham PCYC, and funded by the WA Police Force Community Crime Prevention Fund grant, with participants being are selected from the centres Learning & Development programs based on attendance, behaviour, performance and other criteria.
All costs associated with securing the drivers licence, including 50 hours of professional driving tuition from Eclipse Driving School, are covered by Rockingham PCYC funding.
In total, eight young people selected from Rockingham PCYC courses will have the opportunity to obtain a motor vehicle drivers licence through the program.
The program aims to remove the economic barrier of obtaining a drivers licence and to assist participants to pursue a further career and education pathways
