Fostering community relationships

Kalgoorlie and Midland centres welcomed visits from their local Youth Police Officers who loved helping out with the school holiday activities.

Young people in Midland challenged some of the Police Officers to a basketball game as well as helping run a Blue Light^™ disco at the Centre.

In Kalgoorlie, officers acted as official judges of the drawing tutorial competition and gave out prizes to the lucky winners! The children love these visits as they get to see the Police Officers in their “cool uniforms” and ask them lots of questions about their job!

The positive rapport developed between the Police Officers and the young people through these regular visits helps foster close and respectful relationships in the community.
