From safeSPACE™ to Basketball Coach, Eric finds his passion
Bunbury PCYC is thrilled to announce that our long time safeSPACETM participant, Eric Ryan, is the newest addition to our coaching team!
For the past two years, Eric has been a standout leader in our safeSPACETM program, seizing every opportunity for extra training and upskilling in Basketball coaching. Eric’s passion for basketball and fitness makes him a perfect fit for our popular Aussie Hoops program.
With the support and guidance of our program and Youth Workers, Eric joined the local Basketball league and has now embarked on his journey to earn his Cert III in Fitness at Tafe.
Eric’s dedication and hard work towards his passion have not gone unnoticed by the team and have played a pivotal part in securing his coaching position.
While navigating some of the daunting tasks involved with his first job, Eric had the unwavering support of our Youth Program Coordinator, Clare. Clare helped Eric transition into his new role seamlessly by supporting him with tasks like opening a bank account and applying for a Tax File Number.
Eric’s journey with PCYC is an inspiration to many young people within our safeSPACETM program. Witnessing one of their peers embark on a positive life path, coupled with Eric’s role as an Indigenous role model, is invaluable.
We can’t wait to see where Eric’s journey takes him next!
