Minister Papalia announces $24m Labor election commitment to PCYC
On 16 January 2024, the Minister for Police, Hon. Paul Papalia CSC MLA, announced that a reelected Cook Labor Government would increase PCYC’s sustainability funding to $24m.
Minister Papalia announced this commitment while visiting the PCYC Centre in Bunbury with the Hon. Don Punch MLA.
Minister Papalia stated, “PCYCs are a vital part of our community, especially in the regions, which is why WA Labor will deliver this multi-million dollar funding boost to ensure they have a bright future.”
PCYC Chair, Geoffrey Stooke, said, “PCYC acknowledges the incredible support of the Cook Government and WA Labor in increasing PCYC’s sustainability funding from $4.5m to $6m. This will assist us in delivering much needed support to at-risk youth in WA.”
PCYC CEO, Peter Tranter, also extended his thanks to the State Government. “This represents a significant investment in PCYC WA, demonstrating the commitment of a reelected Cook Government and WA Labor in supporting our early intervention initiatives, diversionary programs and recreational activities.”
