Premier Hon Mark McGowan MLA visits Carnarvon PCYC
Premier Hon Mark McGowan toured Carnarvon to speak to the community after hearing concerns about the recent spike in anti-social behaviour in the town.
The Premier visited PCYC and met with the newly appointed Centre Manager, Gordon Musulin, about the role PCYC can play in the community to engage young people in constructive activities.
Carnarvon PCYC is a safe place for young people to enjoy a range of diversionary programs and recreational activities. Thanks to the recent State Government funding of $1.05m PCYC now operates from a fit for purpose building with a dedicated arts and crafts room, automotive workshop and benefits from Youth Police Officers co-locating in the building.
After his visit, the Premier stated, “Carnarvon is a strong, resilient community with a future full of opportunity”.
Mr Musulin confirmed he is looking forward to working with the McGowan Government and local stakeholders to address the needs of the community. “There are so many ways we can engage young people. I’ve got lots of ideas and can’t wait to work with the local stakeholders and the PCYC team to create more opportunities for local children and young people.”
