Synergy powers Gosnells PCYC
Thanks to The Synergy Community Solar Fund, our Gosnells Centre will now be able to extend its gymnastics and school holiday programs.
Synergy installed a rooftop solar system and replaced all the light fittings with energy efficient LED lighting. Gosnells PCYC Manager Alan Elliott said that by offsetting the centres operating costs with solar power means that more young people can participate in gymnastics, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to.
“Cost shouldn’t be a barrier to young people playing sport. Thanks to Synergy we can spend money on what matters most – providing programs and activities for disadvantaged children and young people at risk,” said Alan.
Synergy’s CEO, Jason Waters, said that supporting important community causes such as Gosnells PCYC, particularly through the use of renewable energy, aligned strongly with Synergy’s values.
“For a second year, the Synergy Community Solar Fund is helping a diverse mix of community groups to access the wide-reaching benefits of solar energy and reinvest those savings back into the valuable work that they do,” Mr Waters said.
The 2018 Synergy Community Solar Fund recipients have already saved more than $30,000 since January this year from their solar panels.
