HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (blended online learning)
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.
Duration
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (Release 1) course includes:
- Self-paced online learning and assessments, which can take up to six hours, are tailored to each individual’s prior subject knowledge.
- 3 hours of face-to-face practical training.
- 1 hour of face-to-face assessment.
Entry Requirements
USI: Learners must have a verifiable Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Minimum Age:
- Ages 14 – 15 years can enrol in and attend the course but must have either parent/ guardian or appropriate supervision.
- Ages 16 – 17 years can enrol in and attend the course with written parent/guardian consent.
Course Requirements:
- Physical Capacity: Learners must perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on:
- An adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
- An infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface.
Reasonable adjustments can be made for practise, but you must complete assessments on the floor to be competent.
- Photo Identification: Learners must provide photo ID to be sighted before the course starts.
- Must complete online Knowledge questions at a satisfactory level (prior to the face-to-face class)
- Learners are required to demonstrate essential foundation skills, including LLN and employability skills, throughout the enrolment process and in meeting the performance criteria of this unit of competency.
- Attire: Learners should wear comfortable clothing and closed shoes.
Study/Delivery Mode

- Learners complete online learning modules and assessments at their own pace.
- Access to learning materials and assessments is provided through the LMS.

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (blended online learning)
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (blended online learning)
HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants and children in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
This unit applies to a range of workers within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthma and anaphylactic emergencies. This includes early childhood workers and educators who work with school age children in outside school hours care and vacation programs.
This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).
Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.
