Subiaco PCYC boys win big at National Youth Wrestling Championships
11 August 2026
PCYC stole the show at the National Youth Wrestling Championships when two wrestlers from Subiaco PCYC, Cesare Roth and Kilian Roberts, both won gold in their categories.
Cesare, who faced fierce competition from three boys in the Under 11, 35kgs Male Division, took home first place at the competition in Adelaide. Meanwhile, Kilian also achieved first place in the Under 13, 45 kgs Male Division, triumphing against four others.
These young athletes are certainly no strangers to gold medals, as they were previously honoured at the 2023 WA Cup held in August.
Coach Dyota Tanuwibawa, who accompanied the boys to the event in South Australia, has been instrumental in shaping the wrestling program at PCYC since taking on the role three years ago. The growth in wrestling, reflected by a significant increase in membership is a testament to the exceptional work and dedication of Dyota and his fellow coaches, Jon Tan, John Geyer, Carol But and Chris Samois.
Congratulations to Cesare and Kilian, we can’t wait to see what 2024 has in stall for them!
